Permaculture Discussion Group started in Bairnsdale.
This started as an decision amongst three of the volunteers at the OIRC to learn more about permaculture, when attending a Permaculture Design Course was not possible for a variety of reasons. Word spread and there are now eight-ten members of the OAA , with levels of experience ranging from novice growers to PDC graduates, meeting on Thursdays from 1 to 2.30 pm to discuss problems in our several growing spaces, share other information and plan field rips to local gardens and farms where permaculture principles are part of the design and techniques used. We are also following the information and exercises in Rosemary Morrow’s book “The Earth User’s Guide to Permaculture”, and open to sometime in the future run a Permaculture Design course in Bairnsdale.

The next trip planned is to a permaculture property in Clifton Creek, later in March.
The next film afternoon will be at Bairnsdale Neighbourhood House on Saturday 19th March,
combined again with the LETS meeting. The doors open at 2 pm, and a short meeting commences soon
afterwards. There will be the usual trading table of plants, books, produce, etc. and something for afternoon

tea is always welcome.
